Community LifeCroft Community Centre is attached to the Primary school and has its own Community Association, which holds an annual general meeting in March of each year. Member groups cater for many ages and interests. Two open spaces within the village are well used throughout the year : the Childrens' Play Area and the Playing Fields. The play area provides a grassed area with plenty of seats and a variety of play equipment for under-12s. The recreation ground is used by individuals, groups and local sports clubs, including Croft Tennis Club and Croft C. C. The allotments on Arbor Road are popular with village gardeners. Leisure time can also be spent playing in, supporting
or listening to Croft Silver Band, taking a well-earned drink at The
Heathcote Arms or reading a good book, courtesy of the Mobile Library
which regularly visits. Youth Clubs are run at the school while Croft
and Huncote Scout Group meet at the Scout Hut, near the Sheep Dip. |
