Education

Croft Church of England (voluntary controlled) Community Primary School is where the majority of village children aged between 4 yrs and 11 yrs are educated. The original village school was built in 1834 on Hill Street. A Mr.Robinson was appointed Head Teacher in 1963 and

continued in post when the school began to function on its current site in 1967. The school is supported by parents and helpers known as "Friends of Croft School". The group organises various events and fund-raisers to provide "extras" which support, stimulate and improve the environment for, children during the course of their time at the school and which are not catered for within the school budget.

A regular play group is run, during term time, at the Community Centre for 3 to 5 year-olds. "CrofTots" is for the youngest village residents and welcomes relatives and carers with babies and toddlers to regular, informal gatherings during term time. The group also organise "Gym Tots" sessions.

Community Life

Croft Community Centre is attached to the Primary school and has its own Community Association, which holds an annual general meeting in March of each year. Member groups cater for many ages and interests.

Two open spaces within the village are well used throughout the year : the Childrens' Play Area and the Playing Fields. The play area provides a grassed area with plenty of seats and a variety of play equipment for under-12s. The recreation ground is used by individuals, groups and local sports clubs, including Croft Tennis Club and Croft C. C. The allotments on Arbor Road are popular with village gardeners.

Leisure time can also be spent playing in, supporting or listening to Croft Silver Band, taking a well-earned drink at The Heathcote Arms or reading a good book, courtesy of the Mobile Library which regularly visits. Youth Clubs are run at the school while Croft and Huncote Scout Group meet at the Scout Hut, near the Sheep Dip.

Religion

St. Michael and All Angels the Parish Church is situated on Huncote Road close to the older part of the village.
